The college search and admissions process is intense, yet college tours remain the same. As both a parent and entrepreneur, Occurio Solutions' founder saw an opportunity to improve this experience. After numerous campus visits, two things became clear: it’s easy to miss important details and even easier to mix up tour highlights. Occurio Solutions partnered with Lelander to transform their web application plans into a functional MVP. Timing was crucial: the goal was to be first to market and ready for peak college tour season. The collaboration began with a focused UX discovery phase, followed by bi-weekly feature releases. As a result, Occurio successfully launched its new product, Campus Pro Tours, within 12 weeks.

The Challenge
The typical in-person campus tour experience isn’t ideal for the hearing impaired, isn't built to encourage high engagement during and after tours, and is missing an opportunity to provide valuable data to campus administrators. Our client’s goal was to develop an application that would offer these valuable and game-changing features to the college campus tour industry. With peak tour season rapidly approaching, and no similar product available in the market, developing an MVP quickly was necessary. Lelander focused on essential features that would impress in product demos with potential clients and perform reliably as new campuses adopted the app.
The Solution
Lelander helped our client be first to market with a web application that enhances the in-person campus tour experience by making it more accessible & engaging through several key features. Live transcription through speech-to-text technology improves accessibility and retention of information during the tour, and offers the option of sending an annotated transcript to each participant once the tour is complete. Location tracking allows for a post-tour map to be sent to tour participants as well. Photo capture and private note-taking save “in the moment” memories to remind participants of the tour highlights that were most meaningful to them. Campus administration can now collect valuable data on participant sentiment before and after tours and better understand the impact of individual tour guides. They can also seamlessly follow up after the tour, providing parents and prospective students with all their tour data to keep them engaged and the campus top of mind as they make their college selection.
